THE NEWBERRY EVENT

In 2013, Doug and Gloria Watt started with a goal:

Doug and Gloria Watt

To help give exposure to our local musicians, artisans, and crafters, and at the same time, raise money and awareness for Multiple Sclerosis.

Over the last five years they have put on five of the biggest events South Central Oregon (Newberry Country) has ever seen, with the help of big names like Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Craig Chaquico, Terry Robb, Lino Alessio, Fishbone and Folk Rock Legends Brewer & Shipley!

Gloria, now 56, showed symptoms of MS at 19 and was diagnosed at 24. She has trouble walking now and uses a Segway to get around more easily. Most people don’t realize the devastation that MS causes, Doug said, noting his wife could still ride a motorcycle and snowboard 10 years ago. And the symptoms can vary day by day in their severity. Gloria calls it an invisible disease.

This year’s Newberry Event is shaping up to be the biggest and best yet!

Nestled in the shady aspens and pines of Southern Deschutes County, this 3-DAY OUTDOOR FESTIVAL
is a limited ticketed event that feels like a private party.

JULY 20, 21 AND 22, 2018

Come dance and enjoy many genres of music –
rock, blues, jazz, reggae, folk and more.

Between Sunriver and La Pine, adjacent to Quail Run Golf Course, the 2017 line-up included artists Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real, Edge of the West with Buddy Cage of New Riders of the Purple Sage and Stephanie Keys of Big Brother & the Holding Co, Moves Collective, Through the Roots, Normal Bean Band and Merry Pranksters with George Walker, Sun-Dried Vibes, Terry Robb, 221 Fly, The Riverside and more.

Camping all three days is highly recommended as you won’t want to leave, with the myriad of vendors, food, fine wine and local brews on site. More than just music, local artisans offer all-natural handcrafted goods.

Newberry Country comes together for fun and a heart to raise non-profit funds to benefit the Oregon Chapter of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
